Good Tree is a cannabis technology startup looking for interns who will work directly with the marketing department to launch the expansion of our Los Angeles and Bay Area locations.

As a strategic growth intern, you will become a pro at creating and managing marketing campaigns and strategies. You will learn to manage and measure the performance of campaigns and keep track of best practices for promoting Good Tree. You will seek solutions to guarantee operational excellence, pay attention to detail, and identify proper opportunities to extend our products and service.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Good Tree Marketing manager to maintain and manage brand accounts on industry media sites, including Good Tree, Leaflink, Leafly, and other owned channels.
  • Develop monthly and quarterly campaigns to increase brand awareness, customer acquisition, and sales
  • Track performance and introduce methods to optimize performance across paid and organic channels
  • Define tactics for expanding our brands’ social media audience
  • Develop a deep understanding of various target persona’s mindsets, attitudes, & behaviors to inform strong content development for a variety of products offered by our brands
  • Track insights consistently and develop actionable strategies to boost audience following, reach, interactions, and growth on all social platforms
  • Work with the strategic financial interns to report on key metrics monthly to demonstrate the effectiveness of social media strategy with alternative solutions to improve performance
  • Collaborate with executives and creatives to foster new ideas and convert them into finished visuals, storyboards, animations, gifs, etc. to track, measure, and promote our brands
  • Identify content, trends, groups, brands, and industries that appeal to our brands’ target demographics
  • Investigate social tools, systems, platforms, and services against business goals and deliver formalized reports that are actionable


  • High School degree or relevant experience required
  • 2+ years of concentrated experience in social media with a portfolio; focus in the cannabis industry or high-growth consumer brand/agency is a plus
  • A passion for creating content – ability to shoot stills, jump on camera, and create short-form video to keep up with daily and weekly growth trends is highly preferred
  • Must be an excellent, authentic storyteller with social and digital expertise
  • Must have exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain a heavy workload and meet deadlines; a talent for working with others and communicating effectively
  • Team player with an ambitious mindset
  • Experience with social media tools, platforms, apps, and CMS
  • Possess a history of developing and optimizing engaging content and building a social following
  • Well-organized with impeccable attention to detail; Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Problem solver with the ability to think creatively, intuitively, and unconventionally
  • Proven ability to work effectively with multiple teams receives direction from executive level management and provides a positive influence on other team members. Effectively delegates work, when appropriate
  • 1-2 years of experience with graphic design is a plus
  • Experience with Email marketing services, email campaign strategy & development preferred
  • Must be willing and available to work outside of business hours on occasion — during crucial marketing campaigns and product releases are launched
